As we normally arrive at the ship early (we don't live too far away), we get a nice drink (or maybe two), drop of the hand luggage (as soon as we can) and get something to eat - may have to eat first then drop the luggage off, depends when our cabin is ready. Then CHILL...

Okay, getting a little nervous here.... what’s wrong with the buffet? I know they have separate restaurants that are not included in the price of cruise, but between the price of the cruise, airfare and excursions I just thought I wouldn’t spend extra on food that is already included on board. I’m sure we will buy food when out on excursions also. What am I missing. Haven’t been in a cruise in over 25 years!

We have no problem with the buffet. Some people say only the same things are severed over and over. We have not found this to be the case and a little searching can give you some fabulous choices. We have only eaten at the "additional cost" restaurant when it was comped to us. We have never gone hungry and have 39 cruises under our belts.

Thank you for your reply. Wow, you sure have gone on a lot of cruises! This will be my second and the first for my hubby (aside from his Navy days!). Lol

My Dad was a merchant Marine in WWII and he enjoyed the similarities and the differences on a cruise ship. Your husband should have fun exploring the ship.

Don’t be too impressed, we have been at this for a while.

Nothing wrong with the food in the buffet. It could be crowded, though, depending on when you go. Different ships have other free options that are available for lunch when you embark. When we sailed the Allure, we ate at Park Cafe and definitely recommend them on that ship. What ship are you sailing?

Buffet or Promanade Café, then check location of our dining room table, making an introduction with the Matre'de, because DH is in an electric wheelchair.
