Tested Positive for Covid in Mid Dec. Still testing Positive today.

My Cruise is coming up in 26 days and I am still testing positive for covid that I had in mid Dec. My Dr said I can test positive for up to 90 days but am not contagious and have no remaining symptoms. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Can I use a Dr. note to bypass the testing?

No, CCL has updated its protocols for those who have had COVID within 3 months of sailing.. those folks do not need to test, but can submit a doctor's note, and a screening by the medical staff. Still have to be vaccinated, but as long as you are in good health and have a doctor's note, you can sail.

I just read about it last night.. Not sure when the change was made.

What did CCL say after contacting them?

Don't you just luvit when folks ask for advice and then disappear back into cyber? Especially when something interesting is being kicked around? In r/l that might be called ignorant, or rude...in cyber, its normal.....

What was the outcome, this was posted 27 days ago. Hoping you were able to cruise!

On cruise news or other YouTube show, a cruise line, cant remember you can test positive after recovery. You Probably need a DR note.

Thanks for that...yeh they said today but it started YESTERDAY, one delivery of 4 tests per address...discovered it by accident watching BLOOMBERG...they havent figured out what to do with multigenerational families at the same address, or for folks without internet...but hey they don't matter anyway right? Now its up to the USPO to deliver promptly, or "ship" within 7-12 days...riiiiiight...Im not betting on it but I'll let y'all know when (if) we get them.....BTW...the link will take you to an order form run by....the USPO...(kaff kaff).

Starting today, the govt will send [4] free home tests to any household that requests it. While they are not the kind of test that would be honored by the cruise lines (those requires independent verification), they still may help out for anyone who wants to stay abreast of their status prior to taking an "official" test that the lines require.

The key here is what CCL has to say about who boards and who doesn't. I'd love to hear what their response (if any) is...Hate to turn up at the terminal and somebody says NO....Last trip (end of NOV), we managed to get tested at a local walk in clinic in Galveston (along with skeighty-eight) other folks cruising within the two day window ...got results on my cell in less than an hour, and they printed it for us (nice folks). All negative...produced it on demand to some doofus boarding clerk whose sole job it was to review the things and make sure all is in order. She didn't know where the test results came from, and had difficulty counting the dates...probably illiterate....and wanted to send us for ANOTHER test...did my usual and demanded a supv, who, fortunately, was nearby...she blessed it and off we went...took a minute or three to calm down...point is......well.....you get the point.....the CDC says one thing (daily) and the cruise lines say another, and it all comes down to whatever happens at the terminal.....good luck and PLEASE let us know what happens!!!

My 2 cents: if you're still testing positive, stay home.

If you're insured, you could wait it out.

If you're still positive then you should cancel and rebook when you're negative.

I hope it works out in the end.

Peace.
