Surprise! We're going on a cruise.

Thinking of the other thread about pre cruise excitement, and my DIL who doesn't like planning vacations, made me wonder about this. Would you like your significant other, friend or family member to surprise you with a cruise vacation already planned and booked for you?

I love doing the research on ships, itinerary and ports, so I take a bit of the lead with planning our vacations. DH said he would be fine with me doing everything and then telling him where we were going - he only needs to know the dates to get time off work. My DIL and son book their vacation time, and then surprises her with the details - last trip was to Barbados and she found out at the airport.

I'm generally the one that does the research and booking. After I find the one I want, I find a couple others that are more expensive or lesser itinerary, and give my wife her choice.

Strangely enough, she always chooses the one I wanted.Big Smile

I love the pre cruise excitement of researching and planning too. If DH decided to spring a cruse surprise on me...I would just have to be pleasantly disappointed! Big Smile

Absolutely but never going to happen ... I'm the planner...

I would love it!  I love surprises, but it is never going to happen.  Not a problem as I like choosing the cruises I want to go on.For something this expensive, we always decide together.

The DH wouldn't go that far, but he has said, "let's go on a cruise in the next month or two.  See what you can find."  I did and we did!Love

Ditto Yummy

I can see that happening with our crew. I was surprised by a huge party on my 60th with friends and families flown in and hidden for the occasion. So I would not put it past the kids.

Oh, you are good. Hahahaha

It would never happen in real life for me either, but it sure would be awesome. My hubby does surprise me on weekends sometimes by taking me out for lunch though,.............. Samples at Costco. Big Smile
