Staggered Embarkation

By adhering to the staggered embarkation times, it seems that the process has improved immensely!  I have priority boarding so it doesn't impact me, but in talking to other cruisers they were really happy with the speed they boarded.

They did stick strictly to the schedule however so people who were way early still had to wait till their designated time ...

Carnival doesn't allow folks to enter the terminal until their check-in time unless they have priority boarding.  Our experience with staggered check-in in Miami was very good.  I, too, think it's an improvement.

So far so good.

Sounds like this was a good idea!

The best part seemed to be the elevators ... by embarking by floor, you have groups all going to the same floor versus stopping at every single one ...much smoother.

Did this on the Grand, was very happy with it.  Very speedy.  I showed up early (145pm vs. 230pm on my paper) and they still let me check in.  Wasn't too many there in the terminal.

So far San Francisco has been the best port I've sailed out of with San Diego a close second.  Vancouver the worst.

With Carnival, guests choose a preferred time slot to embark, with only a certain number of guests in each time zone.

We show up, we board when they allow us. We usually board quickly as we are both disabled. We get our S&S cards, and head up the gangway.

I have no issue with staggered check-in because it makes the process more efficient and less frustrating. Many who do have an issue, show up when they please and expect to board. It's a shame they didn't read the boarding/check-in process properly or ignored it. No pity for them...not an ounce. OR get priority boarding and smile (like we do) as you walk by all the ticked-off people who fail to follow directions. Big Smile
