What a mess!Crying

We were there last year and agreed that, to date, it's the most beautiful island we had seen.  It truly looked just like the scenes you see on House Hunter International and other shows.  Absolutely breathtaking.  I am so very sorry for the folks there.  Seems like their Paradise is now their Purgatory.

Truly devastating.  A few years ago I worked as a contractor for Innovative, the local telco/cable tv/wireless/internet company in the USVI.  One of the main central office for communications was in a shipping container on the hill leaving Cruz Bay.  It also contained a cell tower.  Given its location and the wind damage observed, I am not surprised communications are down on St John and residents are trying to pick up signals from St Thomas.  Watching the videos above brings back a flood of memories and emotions.  I walked and drove those streets frequently.  When I took time off, I went to St John, my favorite of the USVI.

Even though I've never visited the island, I have seen it on TV and had hoped to cruise there someday. Such devastation is unreal!
