Splendor now in Long Beach

Carnival has sent the larger ship Splendor to Long Beach to do the Mexican Riviera cruises and sent Miracle to Florida. Any inputs?

I'm not a Carnival fan but I'm open to trying them again.

We loved the Miracle, and hadn’t planned to do a Mexican Riviera cruise again, but might reconsider with the Splendor going there, and then the Panorama next year.

The Splendor was built for Cunard and you can see the design difference from most of Carnival ships. It is nick-named the Pink ship, but after you are on it for a few days, it is barely noticeable.Wink

Booked on her in August, 14 day Alaskan cruise.

Jc. Isn't it one of the older ships? Past her prime? I forgot what line your a fan of. I might try a change. I've done six CCL cruises.

Easy solution... join us on the Ruby Princess in September.Wink

The Splendor is going to be renamed the Splendour and sent to operate all year round from Sydney.

We loved the Splendor! Haven't sailed on the Miracle list, but sooner or later, that cruise will book itself just like the others haveBig Smile

Last time I did the Mexican Riviera cruise was Feb 2011. That was the last week NCL and Disney did that cruise, RCCL had already pulled out of the west coast of Mexico. On that cruise while in port, I think it was P.V. (I was recuperating that cruise so did not go into port) I was laying by the pool and heard a couple gun shots (I know a gun shot when I hear one, I go the range often). I decided better to go inside at that point. 2 Mexican nationals were shot next to the ships behind the "Secured" area, they were not cruise line not port employees. That was the end of the Mexican Rivera cruises for years.

F.Y.I. No place better then a ship for recuperating, lots of food, maid service and entertainment to keep mind and body relaxed and happy.

I may take that cruise just because it is local to me in Los Angeles but I may not get off the ship in ports.

If you think the Splendor's something wait til you see what's next!

If the ship is nick-named the Pink ship then Carnival should fly a flag with your likeness on it.
