Souvenir Glasses With Tropical Drinks

What do you do with the glass after the drink is finished?  Do you take it home with you as a souvenir?  Do you ever order a drink because you like the novelty glass?  Do you ever order the drink without the the novelty glass because it is less expensive? Do you ever order refills of the novelty glass?   What about the pricing of these drinks? Is the quality of these drinks just as good as those served without the novelty glass?  What is your experience with specialty drinks of the day in souvenir glasses?

I have occasionally bought the souvenir glass, sometimes with a drink and sometimes just for the glass. I keep them on a shelf with my beer stein collection. They are admittedly tacky, but that's OK.

The quality of the drinks is the same with or without the glass, and I have occasionally gotten a refill for them.

The price of the drink is the same, with an extra charge for the souvenir glass.

We have bought the glasses and have a great tacky collection. We have kept the recipes for the drinks and have had "cruisenights" where we make the drinks and have a few friends over, who bring their tacky glasses and recipes as well....... I guess you have to be here.Wink.... If the souvenir glasses are not made of glass, but acrylic or some sort of plastic we use them outside during the year for the hot tub.

These responses applied to when we were drinkers and into drink of the day...

What do you do with the glass after the drink is finished?  Brought it to the cabin to wash out

Do you take it home with you as a souvenir?  Yes. At first to keep for ourselves but that soon lost its appeal so we brought them back as gifts for others.

Do you ever order a drink because you like the novelty glass? Yes... especially when they light up.

Do you ever order the drink without the the novelty glass because it is less expensive? Nope

Do you ever order refills of the novelty glass? Not usually. They ended up being too sweet most of the time.

What about the pricing of these drinks? Too expensive nowadays.

Is the quality of these drinks just as good as those served without the novelty glass? I would say yes, but have not experienced these recently and things could have changed.

What is your experience with specialty drinks of the day in souvenir glasses? Too sweet and syrupy.

In the old days,  before the LED flashing glasses RCI had some small metal cordial glasses,  a different color every night with a after dinner special.   I have kept one of those because I likes the cordial glass.   I had bought some of the drinks of the day with the glass,  I ended up giving them to the Good Will when I moved.   No point moving stuff I did not use.

Before retiring to Florida, we, too, had a big bar and I kept souvenir glasses and the uniquely packaged liquor bottles on display.  Now I have no room for them. Recently I did purchase a drink in a glass that lit up with neon lights because we went to a neon theme night.  It was fun and the glass lights worked for a long time.  Tacky but fun!
