So I saw today that the new coming Virgin cruise ships will not have a buffet

Apparently Virgin has announced on their new ships there will be no buffet and no assigned dining times .... quite different. There are also some videos available showing what their dining areas is supposed to look like ... Ummm no thanks ... not my bag man.

A bunch of videos at this link for the line

I am not much on decor, but boy is that ugly! Lots of seating. I wonder where the food comes from?

Im not going and I aint looking. Buffets aren't my bag, but not having em seems almost communistic...we head for em for lunch usually on port days only..and then not all the time..Im sailing on a mega ship in a few days that Ive never been on, but at least we've been on NCL so many times Im not concerned...we got some sneaky plans to avoid most of the crowds...Ill share later, because we're gonna do it all again Feb. same cabin. the thing is BIGGER than an aircraft carrier!!!!!

Yankee, I look forward to hearing what you think about the mega ship. Have not been on one yet. Can’t seem to get myself to book one. Bo nVoyage have a great cruise!

Thankyou! its causing me some confuzzlement because as Ive probably mentioned too many times already, were doing it again in FEB...same ship, same cabin...longer cruise. Can I do a chapter one and chapter two/ or refer back to the first one or end the first one and a couple months later say "see the second one?" sheesh...but yes, never been on one this big...or this modern. the thing is only 5 years old and was redone this spring. so I guess Im gonna find out if there is such a thing as a ship that's "too big"...altho, truth be told, the smaller ones aren't really small. And I fully intend to work at crowd avoidance...ought to be interesting..

No buffet! Oh the horror!

If they were going for different then they succeeded. A lot of stripes on the go- can you say sea sick?? Would have to see some video/reviews from cruisers to offer a firm opinion.

Isn't it supposed to be a "health conscience" cruise line? Adult only.

Not really sure where Branson is going with this venture. Seems destined to fail.

I checked them out on Facebook. I was not too impressed with the seating. The chairs do not seem to be comfortable. Although I like dining in a restaurant or the MDR, there are times that I like to get a quick bite or two mainly before a long shore excursion.
