Sneaking Booze On a Cruise Ship

Bon Voyage magazine published a story on how to sneak booze on a ship: http://cruiseline.com/bonvoyage/cruising-101/q-a/how-to-sneak-booze-onto-a-cruise-ship

What methods have you used to sneak booze on a ship? Any tips or tricks? Has anyone used the mouthwash bottle idea?

Tip servers in cash. Once they know you will do this they serve you free drinks for the $3 tip, works every time

I would not risk it. If you are caught the cruise line can deny boarding with no refund.

By the way Disney Cruise lines ALLOWS you to bring your own booze.

So, had my bottle of Jack Daniels in my room, was a happy camper.

I did not know that about Disney Cruises , I guess with all the kids on board you need your own bottle

Yeah, I was surprised at how liberal Disney's policy is: "Alcohol is permitted onboard but must be hand-carried on in a bag no larger than 22″ wide, 14″ high, and 9″ deep. - See more at: http://cruiseline.com/bonvoyage/cruising-101/cheat-sheet/may-i-bring-alcohol-on-my-cruise-ship-#sthash.mBHQgDiz.dpufBig Smile

After you've done it a couple of times, the thrill wears off.

I do not think it is a thrill , I think of it as a savings , when you go on as many cruises as I do   :)

Thanks for the tips. I was able to get a couple of nips on board in Bermuda just by having them in my pocket (no metallic cap). That's all I've ever done. I was thinking of doing the Listerine bottle this time. The Rum Runner kit looks like it would work though! I might try that.

I figure I'll use the small Listerine bottles so it isn't as obvious (one in my carryon and one in my fiance's). Even if I can save the cost of just 10 cocktails it will be worth it.

If Carnival catches it. They take it and leave a nice note as indicated in the first post. If it is a fully sealed bottle they give it back the last night.. They did with my wife's bottle. They sure don't kick you off the ship..

Knock on wood,...we have NEVER had our liquor confiscated.  I guess we have a good method!!!
