Show Reservations

On RC's Independence of the Seas,

How far in advance can you make reservations for shows?

Every time I log in to my acct, I don't see on my calendar of events where you can book shows. I am going on a cruise, (my first) in Jan of 2018, and don't know where to go to do this.

"Royal Caribbean does not provide a means of reserving entertainment prior to your cruise on ships that are not Oasis-class or Quantum-class ships.

On your Independence of the Seas cruise (and any other Royal Caribbean ship that is not an Oasis or Quantum class ship), all the shows are first come, first served. Guests just show up at the venue prior to the show. Arriving 15-20 minutes before the posted show time is usually enough to get a seat.

Occasionally, there can be tickets offered onboard for the ice shows. If tickets are available, guests will be notified onboard if there is a ticketing process"

Enjoy your cruise!!

Let's say there's not a chair, can you stand and watch the show?

I don't know the answer to that--I've only sailed RCCL once. If you get there a little early, you shouldn't have a problem getting a seat.

Correct, for every ship below Quantum class there aren't reservations available. For production shows you should be able to find a seat as the theaters are huge and usually the show will have two performances. Ice shows will get full and although you can stand, if it gets too crowded, you'll be asked to leave and come back at another time. Especially with ice shows, get there early!

Here are a few examples of the production shows where you shouldn't have trouble finding a seat:

You'll also be able to see performances by the orchestra in jazz sets and big band sets like this which are in smaller venues for an intimate setting:

For headliner shows like the comedians or specialty singers and groups, you may want to get there a little earlier as they tend to be more crowded:

Only on the mega ships can you make pre-cruise show reservation.
