Second cruise

We’re planning our second cruise in early 2019 after our 2015 trip to Alaska and it will be with Norwegian for we paid $250 to get $500 to use on our next cruise.

We’re thinking about the Canal and are wondering about paying more to go on the Bliss as opposed to the Star. Seems we can get cabin with window that is 159 square feet on the Star as opposed to the 129 square foot cabin in the Bliss. The Bliss however is a much larger and newer ship.

Pay the extra.  The Bliss is newer and has more to offer.

I would say pay more for the Bliss,   the Star is old and not as much to do on it or as good a selection of extra pay dining.  Worst cruise I have had was on the Star for bad service and bad food.   The newest ships get the best crew.

The Bliss looks like fun but it is bigger so more crowds and much more walking. We had our first cruise on a larger ship recently and as much as I loved the cruise and the ship we did notice that on days where the weather was not so good the insides of the ship were over crowded. All areas packed and kids playing and lounging on the stairs. The other downside with the larger NCL ships if that only have 2 elevator banks of 8 elevators each. One forward and one aft where the smaller NCL ships have 3 elevator banks of 4 elevators each. One forward, one aft and one in the middle. And of course at each elevator bank is also a set of stairs so it is easier to get around on the smaller less crowded ships. So besides the room difference you need to ask yourself what else is important to you to make your cruise most enjoyable.

Bliss looks really fun and exciting with more things to do, but don't be afraid of the Star, either. I sailed on the Star this past summer in the Mediterranean and it was a fantastic cruise. We loved the crew and even though it isn't packed with amenities, there was something really special about the ship that we couldn't quite put our finger on. But it definitely made me want to sail Norwegian again in the future - so whichever you choose will probably be great!

Either one you decide on, have a great time.

Enjoy your cruise!!  Personally, we don't spend a lot of time in our cabin, so the cabin size wouldn't be a deciding factor for us.

Norwegian Bliss looks like an amazing ship but, as others have said, you should have a wonderful cruise aboard either of those ships!
