Was it caution or over kill ?

If that's what has to be done for safety, well, it's better than the alternative.

The latest articles clearly indicate the passengers had been forewarned in their contracts BEFORE the cruise ...no refunds ...

In a section labeled “Notice concerning safety and security,” the contract specifically mentions the possibility of the need to sail without lights.

“The United States Department of State and other similar government agencies regularly issue advisories and warnings to travelers giving details of local conditions in specified cities and countries according to such agency’s perception of risks to travelers,” the contract states. “Carrier strongly recommends that Guests and their travel agents obtain and consider such information when making travel decisions.”

It sounded pretty scary, but it's good to know that the cruise line takes full precautions.  I'm still just glad I wasn't on THAT ONE!  lol

I think its cool.

inthink it is erroring on the side of caution. To me it is reassuring that they have things in place in case someone try's it.

They can hand me a rifle if necessary.

OK. Most of you know I am a Princess person. (no jokes, Todd).

That said, why this one ship undergoing nighttime black out conditions, when other cruise lines must be doing similar world cruises, and navigating the same general area of the ocean? And no blackout news of them?

Water cannons and sound devices? Please! Give me BAK1061 with a rifle and 6,517 rounds. Swiss cheese (with at least one hole. No, it will probable be a lucky shot, but still - one good shot at sea with the ship and target both moving is pretty good. Oh, gosh! I am feeling seasick Nervous.

I think when they see a pirate boat (NOT a ship as these are little six person floating bathtubs) approaching they either summon, BAK1061 to the Lido deck, or veer 180 degree starboard and let the corresponding wake capsize the pirate BOAT, or summon everyone topside who has spent the last six hours at any on-board bar drinking beer and (well, you know what they would do - piss on the pirates).

Does not matter if they are consonant pirates -- RRRRRRRR, me bucko!

or vowel pirates - iiiiiiiiiiiiii, me bucko!

They will be visiting Dave Jones at the bottom of the sea.

DUCK, take cover BAK1061 is re-loading!

6500 rounds !?   What are you arming me with ? A Gattling gun ?

Just want to ensure you hit them at least once !

Anything you want... but my DH would want to shooting with you, so you might have to share the rounds GIL155 is handing out. I think I'll not take that cruise.
