Sea animals spotted

What are some of the sea animals you've spotted on your cruises?  While on the Crown Princess heading back to San Pedro I saw a group of what I'm sure where oar fish.  They were very long slender fish with blunt heads.  They swam along side the ship for awhile then headed away.  I thought they stayed deep and far from shore but am almost sure they were oar fish.  My dad has told me about spotting flying fish when he was in the navy.  Haven't seen those yet.  Have seen dolphins and whales spouting.  How about you all here on the forum?  What have you seen?

Whales, orcas, porpoise, dolphins, flying fish, seals (or something like a seal) and goofy birds. Might have seen Captain Nemo's Nautilus - on the other hand, might have been phosphorescence...

I've seen the flying fish (seem to be quite common on the western Caribbean voyages) as well as dolphin. Plenty of manatee (Florida), and seals and whales (Alaska). Had a pod of several hundred pacing our ship when I was in AK last time.

OK,  I be the one to say it ........ I saw the beached wales laying out by the pool. I believe they are of the Chog species,  You can tell by the behavior of getting up early to lay out towels on a bunch of lounge's and not using them until afternoon.

You all know sooner or later somebody would say it..... so I got it over with quick and now it has been said  Big Smile

We have seen flying fish, whales, sea loins and dolphins.  On our cruise last October we had a school of dolphins on both sides of the ship for about 20 minutes.  They were jumping, flipping and playing with the ship.  Big Smile

Since the ChogWhale is obviously not an endangered species, but rather an invasive species, do they give rewards for hunting them like lionfish?

We have seen, dolphin, flying fish, Humpback whales, gray whales, orca, otters, sunfish. i think that covers it.

We have spotted bald eagles, seals, sea lions, whales, porpoise, dolphins, flying fish and different types of birds.
