Sail-A-Bration for RCCL's Oasis of the Seas

On Nov. 5th, Port Canaveral will hold a Sail-A-Bration from 3-6 p.m. at Jetty Park to welcome the newest mega ship Oasis of the Seas to their homeported fleet.  There will be fun for the entire family with entertainment, music and give-a-ways.  We are so excited.  This is one of my favorite ships.  If you are in the area, be sure not to miss the festivities around her arrival. There will be free parking at Jetty Park.

That's so cool! Are people allowed on the ship, or is it just a fun time in the park to welcome her to Port Canaveral?

No, you can't go on the ship but it is a fun atmosphere with music, games and handoutse.  Some neighbors thought that they could tour the ship.  Not so.

Yes, I did but they changed the date and we were all turned away.  I will post a new announcement right away.  It was disappointing and no one could tell us why the date was changed.

Usually it is not quiet!  There is music and lots of noise and crowds of people. We attended one for the Disney Dream and received a beautiful photo of the ship that I still have.

So the cruise lines and/or the port throw parties for the locals at Jetty Park to celebrate the arrival of new ships?  Very cool!Big Smile  Keep us posted on this – we may just drive out.  Worst case, we have a nice meal at Grills!Yummy

Usually when a new ship is home ported here, the port throws a party to welcome the ship.  It is a nice gesture.  The locals all turn out for it as well as TAs and others in the industry.  It is fun to watch the new ship depart.  Grills is a great place to enjoy the view and have a drink.

Hi Gloria!  We don’t get out there often, but we’re thinking we should expand our options beyond Grills (even though we’ve always enjoyed it there).  Any recommendations near the port?  We’ve heard good things about Fishlips.Yummy  Thanks!
