Hi there. First time cruiser so excuse any ignorance. I've searched and searched but have not found answers to a few things.

I'm looking at cruises for the Week of Dec 6-14th out of anywhere in southern Florida (Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando).  I have a family of 5 (3 kids aged 3,5,7 by cruise time)

Three have come up that peak my interest and their costs are quite different. I"m torn between trying to save as much money as possible for my first cruise or just going with the safest bet.

RCCL Freedom of the Seas 7 Day (Dec 7-14)Western Caribbean out of Port Canaveral for $2584. The room is a family oceanview which is faily large I believe.

Norwegian Sun 7 Day (Dec 7-14) Western Caribbean for $1550 out of Tampa. This is a family inside room

Carnival Victory 5 day (Dec 8-13) Bahama for $1414 inside or $1534 oceanview out of Miami.

I read a lot about each boat and if I were to rate them I think I would go 1) Royal Caribbean 2) Carnival and 3) Norwegian.

I know the RCCL Freedom is a can't beat experience from all that I read. This seems to be the safest bet. The Carnival victory also sounds good. The Norwegian Sun seems to be a hit and miss depends on who you ask.

My wife and I are not picky at all and neither are our kids.  They are easily entertained and so are we. We are looking for a good first cruise experience and some time to relax.  Looking forward to taking a bit of a break a few days while kids are in the kids program.

I have read some reviews from years back comparing the Norwedign Sun with the Freedom but they were about 4 year old reviews so I'm not sure how much things have changed.

Any feedback tipping us one way or another is much appreciated.
