Royal Caribbean Suite Class

Royal Caribbean Royal Suite Class

Within the past year RC has rolled out their new suite class; Sea, Sky and Star.  In Feb/Mar we had a two bedroom aqua theater suite on Oasis of the Seas for 5 of us, which is the highest level of service and amenities - STAR Class.  My husband (saint or crazy) went with my mother, his mother, his sister and his wife (me)!  We were celebrating many things including anniversary, milestone birthdays and a cancer free year, so we wanted to make it a very special one.  After all, how long any of us are around in this life we just don’t know.  I am afraid we spoiled the mother/mother-in-law to the point they said they can’t cruise any other way now and I would have to agree.  STAR class gets you expedited boarding and disembarkation (15 min from suite lounge deck 17 to customs!!!)– no waiting in lines, walking right up to check in and out, right to customs, and a porter to bring our luggage from the ship, a Genie (butler), unlimited deluxe drink package, all the specialty restaurants including the chefs table, best seats at shows (except comedy) and drinks brought to you at shows, mini bar in room, suite access above solarium, suite lounge, tours of ship, shorter lines, unlimited internet, gratuities and more.   About the only additional thing you pay for on the ship is excursions, cabanas, shopping, pictures and the difference in drink prices over $13.  Dividing the whole price by 5 people made it more manageable but we still paid a lot more than an inside room with no extras.  In essence, the price we paid up front was for all the drinks, specialty restaurants and amenities.  We have always bought the all you can drink package as we drink a lot of water, baileys bump in the coffee, 2 drinks at pool, before, during and after dinner/lounge and we come out ahead.  After dining only in the specialty restaurants for all meals I would do that again.  We did bring the mother/mother in law up to the windjammer cafe one afternoon to give them a small idea of what it could have been.  Afterwards one said that she never needed to that again… Adding the extra cost of beverage and upgraded food to our room (outside balcony) it makes the gap closer.  We don’t cruise every year as our children/grandchildren are spread across the country.  We will just have to increase our cruise budget and find another couple that would like to share in the STAR class experience every 2-3 years!  Next one booked is Symphony of the Seas in Jan 2019.

Now that sounds like a GREAT TRIP!

How wonderful for you to be able to cruise this way.  I would not be able to cruise as often as i do if we booked suites.  It must be nice, though, to feel so spoiled.  I know that it is hard to go back to an ordinary category.  Happy cruising your way!
