Regarding Carnival...

...Can you or can you not take an electric kettle on board?

I am finding conflicting statements about this. I have seen statements claiming electric kettles are provided in some rooms on some ships and statements claiming the kettle will be confiscated.

The carnival website says no coffee pots or hot plates, but does not specifically state anything against electric kettles. The kettle I have holds 2 cups of water and it has auto shut off as soon as the water reaches a boil.

I would just like a clear (specific-to-kettle) answer.

I would not take one and you should ask Carnival directly if you want the right information. Go directly to the source, don't trust strangers - regardless of how well-meaning most of us are here.

Happy cruising!

From the Carnival website Restricted Items List: “Electrical and household appliances, such as coffee makers, hot plates, toasters, etc. (see Exceptions below)”

Since your electric kettle is not listed as an exception it would be considered a restricted electrical appliance.  Here’s the full list:

The would not be allowed on Carnival or probably any other cruiseline.  The cabin steward would probably confiscate it if he found it.

How about you head on over to the Carnival forum on their website and ask that question ?    Just be advised, someone once asked about bringing a rice cooker ( they promised to be careful )............they were never heard from again
