Recommendations for excursions

Looking into excursions for our Mediterranean cruise next year. We will be stopping in Messina, Mykonos, Ephesus, Santorini, Athens, and Naples.  We're looking for recommendations for which excursions you think are "don't miss" and "avoid at all cost".  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ephsus ------ go see the ruins,  the Library complex

Athens ------ go to the acropolis

Naples----- Pompeii and if your into hiking Mt Vesuvius

For the Greek Islands we just walked around on our own to take photos, relax have lunch (Great local food, wine and beer)

It sounds like a great cruise.   I did the Med a few years ago and I want to go back.  If you can,  try and stay a few days or a week before your cruise.  Rome is a fantastic city to stay in.  We stayed in the Historic district and used the Subway to get around  Rome is very easy to walk, the food is fantastic when you go to the small hole in the wall type places.

I've been to Ephesus.  If you have the chance to go, do it!
