Readers digest selected Carnival Cruise line as most trusted

I hear all the bad vibes about Carnival.  But this months Readers Digest had a survey and Carnival was voted as most trusted cruise line.  People say Carnival is the "Wal Mart" of the cruise industry.  I like Wal Mart.  Got 14 cruises under my belt all with Carnival and I ain't gonna change!!!

We love Carnival, but recognize that it's not perfect.  Someday we'll try another line, but the price has to be right or we have to be richer Big Smile

Walmart, on the other hand,.....  I could live a happy life without ever stepping foot in there again Surprised

We've only cruised with Carnival and will stay loyal to them as long as the price is right. We also shop at WalMart. Big Smile

I totally agree with this post!

Everything in life is a "trade off".  If you just love being on the ship, on the ocean and don't need frills, and prefer to get a bargain, Carnival is the cruise line for you.  Please note we have 31 cruises on Carnival so this is not mean to be derogatory. If you want a bit more elegance one of the other lines might be for you.  Just like the type of cabin you buy....an interior is less expensive than a suite.  It is whatever you are looking for in the experience.  You go on a land vacation ... do you spend the extra money to stay at the most expensive hotel or do you stay at the less expensive and have enough money to go on another vacation?  Sometimes Walmart is closest store to have whatever item you are looking for at a given time.  Would I rather spend less on a name brand weedkiller at Walmart than go to the hardware store and spend more on the same brand?  For me the answer is yes. Now, I prefer to shop for clothes at Dillard's because I find what I like and what fits.... does Walmart have the same thing?  I don't know because I've already bought it a Dillard's.  The beauty of the cruise industry is: almost everyone can find the cruise that fits their needs. Well said AuntPinkie.

Speaking of Carnival and FV........

e-mailed with Liz, she says hello.  Special message for Aunt Pinky, someone was dancing in the elevator on the Splendor.  I think she meant the Atrium Elevator.

I do not want to offend loyal Carnival fans (my Mother is one) but reading this threads opening comment I had to focus on Reader's Digest. Again, not to offend, but if Forbes or Fortune magazine did the same survey for their readers  -- do you think Carnival would be #1? You can read my other posts and probably figure out the Cruise Line I am most loyal to. It happens to be in the Carnival family and someday I will be purchasing 100 shares of Carnival stock for the OBC benefit.

A closing comment. It is interesting to see so many Cruise Lines touting their award from (fill in the blank) magazine as Best Cruise Line, or Best Entertainment, Best Food, etc. We each could probably find four or more Cruise Lines winning 'Best Cruise Line for 2017' if we did a little searching since there are so many award granting organizations.

Kudos to Carnival for winning the Reader's Digest Most Trusted award. (I was not even nominated. Sour grapes?) (lol).

I wonder if it was, Lizz?  It wasn't me, that's for sure. It was the glass elevator.  I understand that the new Carnival ships (Vista & Horizon) don't have glass elevator..Sad

Thanks for the message, if you talk again be sure to say hi for me.

Here re is that part of the e mail:

Are you still active at the other group?  If so... tell everyone hello from me and tell Pinky some guy was go-go dancing in the elevators on the Splendor.  I think he was drunk... it was quite the sight to see.  lol

They usually are a bit drunk when I convince them to dance with me.... and I am sober!Big Smile
