Random COVID testing in Belize

So, my folks are on the Vista in Belize today and were picked to do a random COVID test! I think it was when they got off, but not 100% sure. My stepmom just sent a text telling me. Not sure how they got their results, but it was the local government, not Carnival doing the tests.

"Unraveling"??? now?? you expected more honesty from corporate America? Especially cruise lines facing bankruptcy if they don't rebuild their income stream? I didn't read that link before...glad you found it, in a way anyway.......what part of this am I missing that 26...twenty-effing-six crew had it on SATURDAY, which is departure day? How is that even possible?..and THEY didn't infect anybody?? I've got more questions than fingers....99. something % of the crew we're jabbed? who's lying here??????

Holy crap! I hadn't seen that info either.. Should we take bets as to when the ships will stop sailing again?

I thought it was the sailing before this one that had all of the positive cases.. unless it's the same crew members who had it last sailing. Oy Vey!!

That's what I mean.

Yankee47 is right. The lines have to do whatever they can to keep revenue generating sailings going. I too think one or more may be on the verge of bankruptcy.

The problem as I see it is if this thing keeps spiraling, they will have to implement more and more restrictions to placate the CDC. But that will lead to more & more cancellations and less bookings, which leads to less revenue, which leads to...... well, you know.

Or, if it keeps spiraling, it may get to the point where the govt shuts them down again no matter what they do. Oy Vey indeed.

My folks had absolutely no clue about the positive cases on board. I told them that is a good thing, that means you weren't in contact with them! My dad said that they really aren't worried, the crew is constantly cleaning..they use way more hand sanitizer than they normally would, and have been using the handwashing stations. He said they have been acting like they normally would on a cruise, just washing and sanitizing a little more.
