Queen Mary 2 vs Solistice

Hi everyone. First post here. We've been on 2 cruises: Carnival Victory with 2 of our kids (many years ago) and most recently (couple of years ago) the Queen Mary 2 for our 30th anniversary. We ABSOLUTELY loved the QM2. Especially dressing for the formal evenings. I had so such fun shopping for 5 formal gowns (was a 12 day cruise). My mother is taking me on an Alaskan cruise for my 50 something birthday Wink. Would it be totally out of place for us to dress to the nines on the Solistice? I would love to take a couple of my gowns out for a spin. We wil be sailing from Seattle in August 2017.

I've been on many cruises and what I love best is that you can do and wear whatever you want and not be "out of place".  By all means, take the gowns and dress up when you feel like even if it's not "formal" night ... many others will do the same.

As Debbie said, there are more people dressed well on formal night as opposed to not.

Dress up as much as you want -- you will not be out of place as long as you are comfortable.

I have done Celebrity a few times (it is my favorite line)  My last 2 were a few years ago in Europe and people dressed up.   I was not out of place in my Tux.

If you enjoy dressing up by all means dress up.   Celebrity has gone a bit less formal over those years,  I'd ask some travelers that have just been pn the ship or a good TA.

If you want to pack a gown, by all means, go for it.

Happy birthday & enjoy the cruise

btw, if you want a new brother and sister, my wife and I are up for adoption, and would love to join you on an Alaskan cruise.    At least run it by her.  Thanks.

Yes, dress up as much as you wish.  It is your cruise.  Happy

Happy birthday! I think gowns are cool!Happy
