Supply and demand lol. We need to stop telling people how great cruising is ....

yeah -- cruising is terrible. I'm never going on another (until my next oneBig Smile)

It was a long shot cruise anyways... I'd essentially be using my 2 weeks worth of vacation in one shot. But daaannngggg.... That was a HUUGGEEEE Jump

I'm pretty sure that the price will go down again.

When sales are good, they raise the prices. When sales slow, they lower them.

With the increased prices, the sales are sure to slow.

As Debbie said, supply and demand. It is really quite humorous sometimes to watch the swings. Example my 14 night cruise last year. We booked it just over a year out and got a very reasonable price which held static until about 6 months out and then is started to slowly increase. A month before final payment the price for the balcony had doubled from what we paid (surprise) and 3 weeks before final payment all balconys were sold out (or so the cruise lines web site said). Ah but the difference a few weeks can make. The week after final payment all of a sudden there were now cabins available in every class and the price had dropped back to just a bit above what we had paid but did not have the OBC perk we got for the early booking. There were balconys available right up to sailing and the prices listed 2 days before sailing had dropped to what we paid. We actually met a single cruiser that upgraded from an inside cabin to a balcony for the same price we paid but the cruise lines waved the single supplement. So you never know.

That's a jump. I've also been watching the price for a cruise next June but it's only gone up 4%. I keep hoping it'll go down but I might have to bite the bullet and book.

I was booked on one for next April. A lot of cabins were showing as empty.

A couple of weeks ago, the price dropped about 30%. Now it's filling up quick.

I keep watching for our cruise in Jan 2018 to be free.....Big Smile I'm guessing it will be long wait.

The fare for our cruise in November is over $300 more than we paid. I'm glad we booked early. This cruise filled up early.

Keep watching. What goes up may come down again.
