Prebook drivers or hire at port?

Hi,

I got quotations from drivers/companies recommended here at cruise critic and they seem to be charging roughly 600 euro for 8 passengers in a Mercedes car for an approximate 8/9 hour trip, excluding tickets and lunch in Naples ( Capri and Amalfi/Positano), Rome ( Vatican and Colloseum), and Livorno ( Florence and Pisa). Is this rate reasonable or will it be cheaper if i get off and hire at the port. I wanted to save time and effort at these ports as the excursions are long, but not at the cost of paying much more than I would at the port itself. And an advance cost of 300 euro is required with the pre-booked drivers ( except one company).Could some one help me please?

Sorry that I can't help you.  I have no idea what a private car and tour would be.  Good luck and enjoy your tour.

You can try Costco Travel which we have used in the past.  You have to pay before with a credit card, but will refund money if port is missed.
