Pre-Cruise Testing

OK, so once again I fell for hype. Since CCL had announced they will stick to the maximum 2-day prior Covid testing through the end of March, and since now read that tests are getting hard to come by, I hurriedly ordered our Binax AG home tests today for our 3/6 cruise. This is the test where you have to log in with a "Telehealth Specialist" who will witness you administering the test, then validate the results.

I thought for sure I would receive an email stating something to the effect that "due to the "crisis" of lack of available tests, their normal 2-3 days delivery would be extended to 4-6 weeks".

They already shipped, and according to FedEx they will be delivered tomorrow.

Awesome, now I have something else to worry about.

Thanks............. I think.

I'm glad you were able to get them in time. I just stopped by CVS for an errand and they posted signs saying they were all out of COVID tests.

Thanks for the important information.

Got an email mail from Princess yesterday asking my opinion on testing. If you would or wouldn't Cruise depending on testing., Vaccinations etc.

Interesting! Wonder what they hope to do with the information?!

My guess would be that they are using this to gauge what their clients will accept and not accept in order to continue. They want to see what they can and cannot get by with.

I guess "get by with" is Canadian for "get away with".....more and more methinks all these "changes" are just another way to deflect responsibility and liability...,there's always fine print somewhere....and getting "finer"....sure they want to keep sailing..they have monstrous bills to pay....

Got ours via Optum Store online (2 pack for $69.99 total. Will ship ASAP and I believe has a shelf life of 6+ months.

Ordered and received our Binax tests for completion two days before our cruise. I like the idea we can test at home before starting to travel.

Yes, they are hard to come by, at least in my area. My friend is fighting COVID now and I had contact with her while she was still contagious (but I was masked and keeping my distance as best I could), Out of precaution, I scheduled a test for myself last week. We were notified of her positive test on a Wednesday, the earliest I could get an appointment was Saturday, in a neighboring town. Due to the lab not picking up my test (I was told I do not have to retest), I am still waiting for results.
