Pre Check

Has anyone applied for the Pre Check Program where you pay $85 good for or 5 years and get to go through security faster?  Three members of my family already have gotten  approved for it.

We have several previous threads regarding TSA Pre Check - I'll refresh it...

We got Global Entry, which includes TSA Pre-Check and is only $100 for the 5 years.  It has saved us hours of time and frustration – great investment for us!

Thanks for the information.  I have not applied yet for anything so far.

I receive it free through work.

We have and we like it.  We often received pre-check before, but now it is more likely (almost guaranteed).  It takes a lot of stress from flying.

We have recdeived Pre Check so often previously that we hesitate to purchase it now.  We have only one trip this year and no flights for next year.  Not sure if it pays for us.  We will see how it goes on our flights next month.

To get a Nexus Pass, we'd have to take a day off work to travel to Vancouver to have the interview. With only driving stateside a couple of times a year where the pass is honoured, it likely isn't worth it for us to get it. We've had the TSA pre check without doing anything.

We fly round trip 4-5 times a year, while that isn't a lot by many peoples standards, the pre-check takes the hassle out of the travel.

Lucky you!

I read somewhere (CBP literature) that they are going to drastically cut back on the number of PreChecks they give out for free.

Apparently, someone in the government finally figured out that it is difficult to sell something that you give out for free.
