Post cruise tips

OK, we've given up plenty of tips on what to do prior to sailing.  How to pack, what to pack, etc.  But what about when it's all over ?  Do you unpack as soon as you get home ? Do you wait a few days, despondent, crying over your luggage ? Perhaps you unpack, just in time to repack Surprised.

Here is one thing we do.   Before stowing the luggage in the closet, we place a new dryer sheet in each piece.   Keeps the luggage smelling fresh.  We also wipe clean the wheels before placing them inside of each other.

I unpack within 24 hours of getting home, hit the luggage inside with my clothes steamer and if its close enough to the next cruise, start packing items I use just for cruising...

I'm unpacked and laundry done with in a day of getting home. I also put on fresh bedding and put out clean towels before I go so when I get home at least it is all nice and clean for me.

We (actually just me) unpacks.

Then we sit at the dinner table and ask aloud "when is that nice person is going to come by with the menu and take our order?"

Then we quietly weep as the realization that vacation is over hits us.

after greeting my dogs and being greeted by them I usually unpack and then sit down with a drink. Except I have to make this one myself.

Same here - immediately unpack and start laundry. It's so nice to come home to a clean house with clean sheets and towels.

BAK, I like the idea of the dryer sheet in the luggage. We just leave the zipper open a little to let air circulate, but will try your suggestion for sure.

Practice my best sad face, and sit quietly till DH says,"OK, already..  Just book something".
