Planning Question

How far in advance do you start planning your cruise?

I am looking at the 2018 cruises trying to piece together a grand B2B or B3B for May (or possibly April) 2019 cruise of a lifetime.

Thinking about Alaska/Hawaii or Caribbean/Mediterranean.

The waiting for the lines to publish their schedules is killing me!Big Smile

I've book one over 400 days.

Trouble is that I've already booked the 2018 cruise. (Unfortunately booked prior to the 1st Annual Cruiseline.Com CruiseCrying).

Earliest I can book now is April/May 2019 (850 days out).

Can't say enough about the 3 B2Bs I took to the Caribbean combining Southern and Eastern. For me, Alaska would be too long for B2Bs.  ... will let you know what I think of 15 days to Hawaii.

We too booked a year in advance for our World Cruise & it overlaps the website's cruise.  I feel your pain  CryingCrying.  We don't normally book that far out but if we didn't our choices of cabins would be extremely limited.  The people who book on these long cruises book on the ship from one year to the next or even two years ahead. For a short cruise we usually book 6 months in advance but we have also booked much closer if a great deal comes across our computer or we get a call from a cruise line or our TA.  Love those unexpected joys.

We have booked 18 months out and last minute (for us) about 30 days out.  Usually, we are looking about 4-6 months ahead.  We have gotten into the habit of Winter (Dec.- Feb) sailing and start looking year round for the next year, but get an itch and "need" a cruise fix and add one as the whim dictates.Wink

I usually start taking it serious in March for a summer booking.  But since the markets are better now.  All the balcony's are booked up.  Not sure what I am going to do now.

I booked the Cruiseline.com cruise when it first came out.

Usually 18 months will do for us.
