Passport Cards

When I renewed my passport, I was offered the opportunity to additionally get a Passport Card.  I declined since it cannot be used for international travel  It is really meant for those who cross the border regularly by land or sea from Mexico, Canada, The Caribbean  or Bermuda.  Does any one have Passport Card?

I didn't see the point in spending the extra money for something we really didn't need.

I have a state-issued  "enhanced driver's license" that allows travel to and from Mexico and Canada. I still carry my passport with me - just in case.

My son has both the book and card - makes it easier for him on certain things to just have card in his wallet.  I saw no need ...

I 5think that this is a good policy.  Congratulations on reaching Captain.

My husband has one and he uses it for cruising. I do not have a passport nor a passport card so I have to take my driver's license and birth certificate when we cruise.

I have one. I keep it in my document holder that I wear on my neck. I lost may driver's license once when I thought I put it back in my wallet. Now I have my ID in one place. I also have a regular passport.

Same as you, there wasn't a point to it because of its limited use. On an off-cruising topic note, we are driving across NY State to Ontario next month for a peek at Niagara Falls (I've never been). That's about the only time I see it being of use to us... and trips into our fair neighbors to the North are so few and far between that getting them isn't worth it.

I guess that if you need to show a form of photo ID, the card would be easier to carry.
