One more step down - printed out directions!

We now have a hotel in MIA and I have printed out directions from home to CLT (to pick up rental van - still having issues with that one leg of the journey), CLT to hotel in MIA, hotel to rental place to drop off said van to be gotten in the future (breathe deep, listen to enya), to port of MIA and MIA airport to CLT to drop off the van that we have reserved.

now to put all of that in our cruise binder (Danyl collected it last night, hopefully it will not go into the pit of despair), complete online boarding, print out our boarding passes and health forms when time gets closer.

I know its 75 days, 6 hours 8 minutes and 9 seconds, but who is counting?

One piece of advice I might add regarding the rental van is to definitely take the luggage and/or other passengers to the pier before returning it....  It is much simpler if there is only one person coming from the car rental place back to the pier ... Again, Alamo's free shuttle to and fro is the easiest way.

Thanks Deb, you read my mind! The current plan is to go by the hotel, unload baggage and ppl, then one person goes with me to drop the rental off (since i have never been to the MIA airport, it will be necessary to have a spotter with me lol).

Just for the heck of it, I would compare price of rental to the Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL) as it is much easier to manuever and just about as close to the Miami pier.... I would also look at the Alamo in Port Everglades area as a place to drop the car ... I've visited (and lived years ago) in those areas and the distance between the ports and airports is minimal....

Also, I wouldn't ditch the car before the hotel ... wait till morning when you are headed to pier.

{We've done this so many times on cruises out of Florida that it's become second nature}

Each step in the pre-boarding process is a cause for smiling.  Sounds like Debbie has this car rental thing well organized. Congratulations!

DebbieVi has good advice.
