One born every minute.

This is sort of an amusing video of an event that took place here in Alaska the other day. Two residents and one tourist were involved. I'm not certain if the visitor was off a cruise ship but likely so since cruise passengers account for most of our visitation. Over the years in our voyages once in a while we run into an idiot like this on board. I suppose if one of those bears charged and made hamburger out of the fellow his family would have sued government for not providing enough protection and let us all pay for his sorry demise.

That scenery is beautiful. Going on an Alaska Cruise is my number one priority for cruise planning for 2019. Even if I can only go on one cruise next year (God forbid!) it’s going to be Alaska.

As far as the tourist trespassing, I’m not PC about this. I really do wish these idiots would get a good thrashing from the animals to teach them a lesson.

He was auditioning for a Darwin Award .... he failed

Unreal, people like this do irritate me and you find them everywhere. We went to Lake Clark to photograph the bears. But we had a guide and listened very carefully to their instructions. Katmai falls is on the bucket list hope this knucklehead isn’t there. the "tourist", who just so happened to be an idiot, and probably drunk, and possibly offa cruise, needed to be eaten by those critters......and what exactly was the "locals" excuse?????

and I should add (too late to make the edit) that a bear who attacks a peep only has a temporary victory...nuff said...

We used to have a very popular comedian, musician type, here in Anchorage that put on various shows, "Mr. Whitekeys". One of his shows was "Springtime in Spenard" that had most Alaskans splitting a gut. Part of the performance involved other entertainers, one of the best acts involved a one time Miss Alaska, who dressed up partly as a spawning salmon. Then she pranced around the stage singing "Do it once and then you die".

Whitekeys liked to say "When somebody does something dumb, you can always find an Alaskan to do it dumber".

KENNICOTT...old son, you are EXACTLY the kind of guy I could while away a pleasant hour or three in some off the beaten atrium deck quiet pub sampling exotic chilled STOLY..discussing "affairs of state"..oops, this is a family blog....As I mentioned, I live in the "back of beyond" and lakefront on top of that...critters are a constant companion...everything that walks, crawls or flies winds up on my property...even my coonhound knows enuf to leave em alone...lot better manners than most leave em alone, they leave you alone...not counting hungry bears, or mommas with cubs....anywho, I hope Fish n Game makes an example of em...the tourist eventually leaves...the locals mebbe not...

WOW! Thanks for sharing!

I think it is only fair that we put the bears in his dinning room durring his dinner and see the outcome.Big Smile
