Horrible Stops

In response to review, CrusinTim says ...

Where would you have liked them to go? Each port can only hold so many ships and with many ships being diverted in the Caribbean to avoid the storm, the choices are few. You can't just pull into a port like your parking a car. There are dock space factors, pilot availability, resupply coordination and many other things that must take place when a ship changes it's itinerary. Just be glad you didn't have to stay at sea extra days.  Seems that most of the other amenities onboard were to your liking so I don't feel 2 stars are a fair choice.

When I booked my cruise on the Oasis, l really didn't even care what the ship's itinerary was, I just wanted to experience everything that the ship offered.  Needless to say, there weren't enough hours in the days to do that.  So, I booked a cruise on the sister ship the Allure.  Again, I didn't care where she went either.

At least there were some things that you enjoyed such as the good food, service, ship quality and your cabin.

Thanks for posting.  I hope that your next cruise is hurricane free..

While I agree with some of the previous comments, I do not agree with insulting someone by calling them an idiot. That is unfair and uncalled for.

First off, thank you for posting your review. It is unfortunate that your experience was not the best but try to keep in mind that more goes into selecting an alternative than just looking at a map and throwing darts at ports that are close by.  Sure, there are awesome spots to visit that are within reasonable distance, but port schedules are determined months in advance. If a port is at capacity, there is no option to stop. Last minute itinerary changes happen to the best cruises and it is a risk on any cruise, not just during hurricane season. I have been disappointed by itinerary changes too but I'll take that over being put in peril in the path of poor weather conditions any day of the week. When it happened, we put it into that context and enjoyed ourselves despite the experience, I mean how hard was it to stop and consider that we were on vacation?  - - - -  not very.

I can understand the disappointment when something don't go as planned and you share that. I just don't understand why people go so negative on them. It's a big disappointment in itself without getting abused also. Can't people have a little empathy for others? I shared my displeasure last spring on something on my cruise and thankfully was spared the negativity. Let's just be happy for being able to go on cruises, which, for the most part are great. I think it's great some of you explain in a nice way, just no reason for bullying remarks. Have a gentle day my fellow cruisers.
