Cruise great, the lead up to it with CruiseOnly, not so much

In response to review, CrusinTim says ...

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with CruisesOnly! I have been using them for 25 years and NEVER had a bad booking experience with them.

It amazes me that anybody could actually think of travelling without having travel insurance.

We used them once and after the intial booking, trying to get ahold of my agent or any agent for that fact was difficult. In fact we never could get ahold of one. We tried the phone and email and no response, I won't be using them again.   Lucky the cruise went well and no problems.

I do not think that it is fair to downgrade the cruise to 2 stars because of issues with the travel agency that you booked it with.  Your review shows that you were happy with the ship,  the food,  the service, entertainment and activities.  Your only issues seamed to be the TA yet you gave the cruise only 2 stars.  wouldn't it be more fair to give the cruise 4 stars and then go on Yelp and give the TA only one star ?

Now thats what I call a canned reply they did not even read the post but put up a stock reply,  when you look at the cruiseesOnly profile page that is the same reply they gave to all.   So one post reply to good and bad things about the cruise or about them..... that's a company that pays attention and cares.

It amazes me why people buy travel insurance every trip. I have been on over 50 cruises and never had a problem and never had insurance. I am in my 50s when I get older I might get it. I figured I saved over $5000

If I can afford to cruise I can afford any problems that come our way

Harry, 50 cruises and no insurance? Well, good luck to then Sir. All I can say it's a good job that you were never taken ill in some far out place and had to be repatriated back to wherever you come from. There have been a few "hard luck" stories recently of people in accidents abroad, no insurance and trying to set up crowdfunding finance to get them back home, trying to put a sob story into it to make people feel sorry for them.In my opinion, anybody who travels regularly with no insurance deserve all they get.

I've never filed a claim for life, health, or auto insurance, however I will always carry it.

It's nice to know I'm covered when disaster strikes.

I totaly understand the risks-If buying insurance gives you peace of mind- great. Deseve what I get? As of now its extra$$$ for not getting insurance-I will take it.

If the unfortunate situation arrives and I need to pay for medical service in another country or even taken by a helicopter from a cruise ship-I will not be on here complaining about it.I will pay it and move on.

Ok... is this site now turning into a forum for CruisesOnly customer service

resolution?  These issues need to be taken offline. I've seen other reviews

that contain negative comments. Those that mention a specific TA seem to

get blurred out. In this instance I see customer service responses inline with

forum discussion.  I'm not sure that is a positive development... especially

because the responses seem to be canned. There is no value-add to the

discussion.

Looks like the mods took care of it.

It would have (at least in my opinion) been OK for the merchant to defend himself against the criticism, however I did not see that in this case.

OTOH, by allowing the defense, are we also allowing, by default, advertising?

It's a tough call for the mods - I'm glad its their responsibility and not mine!
