Oasis class ship to Galveston 2020?

Saw in a Galveston travel article that RCL signed an agreement with port authority to upgrade terminals to support an oasis class ship. Anyone else seen other sources on this? I know Liberty goes to dry dock in the spring of 2020 so an Oasis class would be a great ship to carry the load.

Just looked it up. Vision rotates to Barcelona in Apr - Sep, then spends spends the winter in the Caribbean. So the repositioning opportunities are on either end of that move.

Supposed to be an official announcement today (5 Dec 18) that confirms an agreement between the Port of Galveston and RCL to build a 3rd terminal to support an Oasis class ship. The port is also in discussion with Disney, Princess, and Norwegian. Do not know the timeline.

WELL! thanks for that. this serious stuff!!!

Looks like completion timeline for Terminal 3 is fall of 2021

Agreement signed - supposed to be open for business fall of 2021

On Houston ABC 13 they had a news segment on terminal 3. The agreement has been reached and the new terminal will be around pier 10, it is right down the road(harborside) from pier 21. It is a good location near the parking lots. (we go to Galveston every week end to dine)

outstanding! thanks for that...lets hope we all make it to 2021. we've seen those beasts in several ports. magnificent looking ships.

We're hooked on Oasis class too.
