Nov. 6th warning.....New York City

Be advised, if you have a cruise leaving from, or coming into New York on either November 5th or 6th, especially the 6th,   this is the weekend for the NYC Marathon race.

 

Allow extra time for traffic and street closures.  I'll try to get those.

About 50,000 runners are expected for the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, which snakes through all five boroughs. While runners trot through the course, others may have a harder time getting around town.

According to the city Department of Transportation, the following streets will be closed Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.:

This is important information. We had to deal with a similar large crowd event in Miami a couple years ago. We ended up spending all my Marriott points to stay at the hotel closest to the port to avoid traffic h*)#

Thanks for the heads up! It looks like I will be carted up to NY to help with the Vista check in.

Yeah, those marathons can really mess things up.

the pic of the pooch in the backpack was great! Very useful in for NYC travelers!

I think she sailed around 630... We were already on the road back home.... It's almost a week later and I think my feet still hurt! That was a lot of people..
