We had made initial booking for this cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas about 5 or 6 months ago. We will be sailing with other friends that we met on our Brilliance of the Seas sailing back in November 2013. It will be a 60th birthday celebration for one of our friends on this cruise. Except for the cruise itself, there is no better feeling than knowing the cruise is paid in full ! All these months of working hard, leading to this point and finally realizing..."were cruisin' AGAIN" is an awesome feeling! And knowing were sailing with friends makes it that much better. Can't wait......
Nothing better than FINAL payment (except for the cruise of course)!!!
Even one step better, prepaying and any excursions and gratuities, as well as having a few buck to spend on "silly Things"
Agreed John. The gratuities were pre-payed as part of the booking so that's done. As for the excursions, since were going with a small group, were going to wait until were onboard and see if there's anything we all want to do together. It's a short cruise (4 nights) and we only hit the ports of CoCo Cay and Nassau. CoCo Cay is pretty much an excursion within itself to us and in Nassau, we may do an excursion since the ship is docked there for for almost 17 hours. Spending has become a less concerning issue since after 10 cruises, we mostly spend on beverages, some shopping and eating in the ports, the casino (love the one-armed bandits) and perusing the shops when their open onboard.
My downfall is the duty free jewellery on board. I don't buy jewellery for my wife except on the cruise and, of course, she is always sure to remind me of that once we board the ship. When we go back to Bermuda on our next cruise, we will buy a pass for the busses and shuttle ferries and not spend a lot doing that. We have been on a few excursions, but now we will do snorkelling and beach stuff. I have a small but sufficient budget for the one arm bandits, so they usually take it all by day two.......
We buy some stuff like jewelry and trinkets in the shops but usually wait till the return part of the cruise when they have the sales. We've been to Bermuda twice and have asked for change in Bermudian money when we bought things or ate on the Island as memoirs.
Just cashed in a bunch of Amex points on a couple of gift cards. Should have them in time for our trip
You’re so right Tim – having it all paid off sure feels great! Happy cruising!
