Recipe: Take a green apple. Dice it. Open a bottle of your favorite alcoholic beverage--preferably something with a fruit base such as Cointreau, Framboise, or even champagne. Dump the liquor (liqueur) into a bowl. Drown the diced apple in the bowl, cover it. Refrigerate for a half hour to overnight. The process is called "macerating."
