In response to review, Johngold says ...

OK, Wow, I got nothin'.....

Since you have done at least a couple of cruises, don't let this fiasco prevent from doing another cruise. I have read a few reviews from folks that have been on the same cruise and find quite a difference in the reporting of the cruise.

This review is quite complete and detailed, from the change in itinerary to the spa treatments, I can understand the content. Good luck on your next choice.

I trust you will seek out a better more professional travel professional for the next travel experience you plan.

Thank you for your comment, and we will definitely plan another cruise to Bermuda next year with Royal Caribbean. We know that this next one will be worth our money. I know that I am probably more vocal than other reviewers, but I am just telling it like it was and not sugar coating it. Norwegian really should have tried to do anything to soften the sting of the disappointment, but apparently they missed the memo on customer service. Live and learn...I just don't want anyone else to experience the same fiasco we did.

I'm sorry that your vacation was not good.  I have also had issues with NCL.  It feels that once they have you on the ship they do not care.  I can understand that they changed the course for bad weather.  That is part of cruising,   I have been on a ship when the Captain mad the announcement to "stay in your cabin tonight if you can,  Room service can bring you dinner if you wish"  That was on RCCL.  Weather is part of cruising,  But lines should have customer service after you are already on a ship.

I also noticed lack of quality, warm food and poor service on NCL's included MDR and buffet. The steakhouse, French and Mexican restaurants on NCL were all very good and worth the money

I do appreciate that you did a balance review and did give good ratings where they earned and poor to the bad areas of the ship.

Each line has a bad ship or two,   I always do research on the ship before I book a cruise.

I have found that the better lines care more about you once your on board and have better customer service if there is an issue.

I also hope that your next cruise goes better. Please post a review afterwardss.

So sorry you had a bad cruise, I have sailed on NCL numerous times and have never had any of these issues. I do agree with you that the massage is overpriced, but I find that on any cruise line. Hope the next cruise is a nice one.

I was on the same sailing and had an amazing time. Were we on the same cruise? The crew (who had been doing Boston to Bermuda for months) were doing a lot of flying by the seat of their pants, but I didn't find that anything I wanted to do on the cruise (other than the bbq) were canceled, despite the rough weather. Some things needed a change of venue (like the white hot party), but you can't control the weather. Sometimes you have to go with the flow.

Personally, I'm grateful that when our port was decimated by a hurricane, NCL rerouted us to a comparable cruise (Nassau and GSC) rather than what Royal Caribbean's Bermuda cruise did that week. Rather than Bermuda, the ship out of Baltimore ended up on a Canada/New England cruise. I wanted to go some place warmer than Boston in October, and that was exactly what NCL gave me.

This is a great example of how different people on the same cruise can have very different experiences.

I have had bad cruises on NCL and a good one.  So I can understand the bad review.  Thanks for your review.

We have sailed many times on NCL, including the Dawn. On the rare occasion we have a problem, it is handled immediately.  Now, if you think your cruise on Royal Caribbean is going to be  so much better , well......... maybe it will, maybe it won't.  We haven't sailed Royal Caribbean since, well, since we had a miserable time on an EC trip a few years ago.  Bad food, bad service, poorly stocked stores, and rude customer service when we got home.

Portofinos was excellent though

btw, someone should have warned you, Bermuda in October..........not a real good choice. Remember, Bermuda is not the Caribbean.

Thank you for posting your review.  We've all suffered through less than optimal experiences.

How can you fairly complain that the cruise director loved the sound of his own voice when part of his job is to talk a lot? I cruised with dingo Dave a month ago and he was great. If you don’t enjoy hearing a cruise director then don’t go on a commercial cruise. He has a positive attitude and made an already great experience even better. The fact that you didn’t enjoy your cruise shouldn’t be taken out on an excellent cruise director who did his job and did it well. I am not easily impressed and I was very impressed with how fun, professional, and awesome dingo Dave was.

Ha ... I can still hear the cruise director from our first cruise on the Norwegian Spirit ... every single morning .... SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING .... and then he would launch into the shopping promo of the day ... For my wife and I 12 years later this is still a running gag ..... (heavy on the gag)
