Nice ship, accommodations could be better

I was just wonderding about the smoke issue on the balcony, I picked this cabin for its location , as I have trouble walking long distance, was smoking an issue because of people smoking on their balconies? or from the waterfront restaurants below? NCL has since stopped passengers from smoking on all balconies.

Hi Nancy607, I was not aware that NCL has stopped passengers from smoking on balconies, thank you for that bit of info. Unfortunately ,the smoke will be coming from the waterfront restaurants below because they are not allowed to smoke inside. It shouldn't be too bad after the restaurants close and there is very few people on the waterfront decks. I wish you and your companions a very safe and fun trip and good weather. It really is a nice itinerary and the ship is very nice, enjoy.

thank you for the response , I was told Nov 1, 2014 smoking on all balconies will not be allowed.
I also changed our room to the port side just to be safe.

That's good, I'm so glad to hear that they are making changes for the better. Balcony cabins are so nice and relaxing. On some night s I like to leave the cabin door opened just a bit to hear the sound of the ocean. Great Stirrup Cay is really nice and clean, if you haven't been there you're going to like it.

balconies are smaller than other cruise lines I've been on, but it is comfortable enough for two persons. It has two chairs and a small table .I'm sorry I don't have a pic to show you, but go on their website and it will give the dimensions for the cabin and balcony.

We were on her this past Feb.

Though nice, we found her to be too big for our liking.

We did know the Maître D and one of the photographers from the Gem.

I prefer to travel on ships that don't permit smoking on balconies.  For non smokers it is annoying to sit out on your balcony and encounter smoke.  I would rather reserve an ocean view cabin instead.  I know that smokers would like to smoke on their balconies and have the right if the ship permits it.  Gloria
