Travel Weekly reports:  Settlement requires Carnival to improve ships for disabled passengers

"The Justice Department and Carnival Corp. have entered a sweeping civil settlement that will provide increased rights for disabled cruise passengers.

The agreement requires Carnival to modify 42 existing ships and seven ships under construction following a survey of their compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act."

I think this is great and already noted that for Princess, there is a check box indicating you wish to book an accessible cabin.  They haven't modified things to include what type of modification level, but that is probably related to the fact that they do not have that level of variety available yet.

I expect other lines will be following suit of will face similar action by the Justice Dept.
