New to the site and hoping to meet fellow cruisers!

Good morning,

I'm new to Cruiseline.com and just wanted to say hello.  My name is Lynn and I live in Tampa, Florida with my husband and 7 children (well, our oldest is 25 and married so I guess I really can't count her as a child but you know what I mean, lol).

Anyway, my husband and I got hooked on cruising a few years ago and now try to take a cruise every January.  We will be on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas out of Fort Lauderdale on January 24th, 2016.  This is our first time on Royal Caribbean and I'm very excited.  Our previous 4 cruises have been on Carnival and while we have had a wonderful time on each cruise, we decided we wanted to spread our wings and try something different.  It's so easy to get locked into a single cruise line because of the loyalty programs so I had to just push myself to get out of that frame of mind and be willing to branch out.  I'm so glad I did and can hardly wait for our upcoming Allure cruise.  For those of you that have cruised on Royal Caribbean, any tips would be appreciated.  :)

Looking forward to learning this site and reading about other cruising experiences.  :)

Hi lynnleigh6

Welcome to the site.  You will find we are a pretty friendly, laid-back bunch of fellow cruise-addicts.

Welcome to the site.   We are over all a nice and helpful bunch Happy.  We look forward to reading your reviews and have you participate in the form.

I would suggest you try a few different cruise lines before sticking to just one.  You may find one that is a better fit to family cruising or if it is just your self and your husband,   Each line has a different personality,  what others love you may dislike and what you love some others will dislike.

lynnleigh6, welcome to the site. look forward to reading your reviews.

Hi lynnleigh6,

Welcome to Cruiseline.com! You've come to the right place to meet friendly cruisers!

Welcome to the site.  Please spend time here and join in on our Forum topics.  We would love to hear your thoughts.  Also, be sure to read our many reviews on the Allure.  She is a fun ship.  I do have a tip for you.  Forget the buffet restaurant on Embarkation day. It will be overcrowded.  Instead, visit one of the smaller venues on the Promenade Deck.  We like to go to the Italian Pizza Eatery where you can have a custom made pizza made fresh just for you.  Second tip - make sure you reserve your show times and dining times as soon as you are allowed to do so online.  It is a bit of a pain but you will get what you want and won't waste time on board.  So many passengers lose out on the fabulous shows because they fill up quickly.  Please be sure to write a review on your return.

Thank you so much for the great tips.  I had heard about booking dining and shows ahead of time and keep trying, but so far it has not opened up for reservations.  Do you know about how long before a cruise you're able to book reservations for dining and shows?  I had not heard the tip about the buffet on embarkation day.  Thanks so much for letting me know.  Is that really the only time the buffet is crowded?  My husband loves to have the breakfast buffet every morning and I've wondered how congested it will be.  :)  Thanks also to everyone for the kind welcome.  I look forward to chatting with you all.  :)
