New Passion...Cruising

For years, I always wanted to take a cruise. However, my wife was the type that tended to get motion sickness, so she was a little skeptical. Our kids were at the stage where renting a villa and heading for the Florida theme parks was there idea of the perfect vacation.

Finally, we set out a family on our first cruise (though my daughter and son-in-law beat us to the punch for their honeymoon a few months earlier). Now we are hooked. My daughter and son-in-law have been on 4 cruises in about 30 months time. We just finished our second. Would love to go more often, but obligations between work and grad school limit my availability.

Welcome to the addiction. It is a great addiction to have. I got mine from my parents. They started to cruise in the 1970's on the Love Boat. I started cruising in 1996. I started with one a year until I semiretired. Last year I did 4, I have already done one this year, just to get the year off to a good start and I'm looking into booking another one. I have done some family cruises, some with friends and some alone. All cruises are good. It is a good addiction to have,

Try the Ship Mate app, it is great for the countdown until your next cruise, chat with others on your ship, ship information, excursions and port information with suggestions of what to do and see.

Welcome to the club. I still get exited every time I step on a ship. It is addicting!Happy

It's one thing you'll never of, since there are so many ways to do it. As a former "cruise snob" I came kind of late to the point where you've already reached. If you love the sea, it's the only way to go.

Welcome to cruising and to the site. I have been cruising since the 80s and think that it is the best way to travel - you unpack only once.

Welcome to cruising. We went on our first cruise last Thanksgiving and all of us are hooked. It maybe some time where we can take some time off for our next cruise with our busy schedules,....but we can dream!

Some call it an addiction, others call it a disease. Either way, the only so called cure ( it's not really a cure, just a brief remission ) is to get on a ship. Any ship. Any itinerary.

Welcome to the ward

Welcome to the cruising world. You will love it, you will want to go again. It is the best way to travel.
