New found friends

This was a cruise I truly needed... for more reasons than one. One think that was a blessing on this cruise is the people I have met. We met 2 different couple's that we plan to stay in touch with for possible next cruises together.  I also met a new friend that we clicked instantly with and only lives to 10 miles away from me!!  The other couples are only a couple hours away also...Over all this trip was very good for me in several ways... but the main reason I went is still in the air... still not sure if the balloon will fly or pop...??

That happens a lot...or not....(hah..a poet I aint)...sometimes you can spend 2 weeks or longer on a cruise and walk off not having met anyone in particular you'd like to hang with..let alone living nearby. we've been on cruises where we spent many a dinner with a couple we just met...and got along just fine...and stayed in touch..and that's on NCL, which is also my line of choice, and where you don't have to dine with ANYONE....if our cruise lives intersect again, that's wonderful, if not, theres xmas cards (real ones thankyou).

as far as "the other"......well...………..I guess it'll remain a mystery of the sea...gl2u!!!

So happy your cruise brought you new friends! We have made a few good ones over the years and loss touch with some others. All in all I wouldn't change a thing.

We’ve enjoyed dinners just the two of us, but greeting those around us. One evening on our first cruise we chatted with a couple next to us, became friends and we’ve cruised together 5 times. Cruising is a great way to meet new friends.

Cruising is the way to go.

We've been cruising since 1988 and I get Christmas cards from our cruising friends. Some we cruise with on multiple cruises.

My sister worked as a Cruise Assistant and then promoted to First Purser back in the 70’s. She still keeps in touch with some of her former coworkers after all these years.

Over the years, we have made many new friends on cruises both with passengers & crew.

That happened with my sister on our cruise to Europe. We're from NE and while on a previous cruise, she met a girl about her age and they became friends. A few years later, they met again on our Mediterranean cruise!

I guess you never know who you'll run into on cruises. I personally have run into old neighbors who were sailing the same itinerary on a different ship, as well as a friend I went to school with (again on the same itinerary on a different ship).

We have met several couples over the years we remain in touch with and have become dear friends.

so happy you met some nice folks.
