New Cruise Ad

Anybody catch the new Celebrity ad?

It discusses a "Vacation with no walls. A vacation with open borders".

It first aired right after the US Presidential debate last Monday, and will have an encore performance right after the next debate.

The CEO has denied any political tie in, and has stated that she hopes that the ad will draw more people in  than it will turn away.

Personally, I think that I will find another line. Not because they "appear" to be supporting one candidate over another, but because they are publicly supporting any candidate. I would rather they use the money to improve the customer experience rather than attempt to drive a country's politics.Angry

I didn't see it but agree with your assessment.

"Far from the talk of building walls, far from the threats of keeping people out, far from the rhetoric of fear, is a world of differences -- differences that expand and enrich us because, after all, our lives aren't made better when we close ourselves off to the world; they're made better when we open ourselves up to it."

Interesting. I didn't see it.

I did not see it. I do think it is in bad taste to even look like supporting one side over the other.

I didn't see it has supporting one candidate or a political statement. I just thought it was a great play on words for vacationing.

I won't let it affect my choice of cruise lines. I don't choose a cruise line for political reasons. I don't usually cruise on Celebrity anyway. If I did, I might express my concerns to the cruiseline in a letter asking for a reply.

Ads like that should be taken tongue in cheek. I highly doubt if a cruise line commercial could drive our political arena. More than likely they were poking fun at the candidates, and the jargon they spew.

No walls? Definitely not Trump supporters, LOL. I know that politics are always a sensitive subject, but this time around, it makes me glad that I am from Canada so I do not have to worry about which one to choose. Tough decision from my seat! Big Smile

I'm not looking forward to either choice.

I just don't appreciate (what I took to be) hidden political advertisements.

BTW, what are the Canadian requirements for legal resident aliens?Big Smile

Gotta be able to eat poutine, like maple syrup and drink a case of beer and burp the National anthem...LOL Just kidding, that may get me deported!
