NCL Bans carry on beverages

Did anyone see the update or article with NCL changing it's policy on banning of carryon cases of water and soda?

Thoughts? Comments? Any loyal NCL cruisers "jumping ship" figuratively speaking. I found the link through a FB post and the comments amused me. I did not realize how passionate people were with their bottle water and soda brands.

If one line starts it,  it will then move to the other lines soon  Nervous

I don't carry on anyway, I'm sure they have their reasoning..Surprised

Since I have to fly  in to every place a ship leaves from. this will not bother me. But I do understand those who will be frustrated.

Other lines have done this as well and some have done this and reversed it to allow the carry on but i do not see this as a biggie. One less carry on item to worry about ;) ... not like I worried about this as if I want water they have taps for it in the cabin washroom and they have dispensers in the buffet. As with most lines I believe that offer the option to order a case and have it in your cabin on arrival so I see this as a minimal issue.

All people want to do is carry on WATER, water for gods sake, are you kidding me. Its freaking water. What have things come to when any business can make money for the most common basic need of human life. They charge 4 bucks a bottle on board and wont let you fill bottles from the filtered stations. Come on people get pissed about something and stop being so passive about this. Its only WATER do you get that its WATER

It is not just water...... lots of people fill the water bottle with vodka.  I know Carnival sells water by the 12 pack for under $ 4.00,  you can pre-order and pay for it so it is in your cabin when you get to the ship.  Im not sure if NCL does this as I try and not cruise on NCL.

That sounds like NCL , that is not my favorite cruise line

My last two NCL cruises I had to laugh, they had the barrels out and made sure no water made it on board. It was like going through screening at an airport. Not even half drank bottles were allowed past security. Believe me they made sure.

With that said the banking of bringing water on board does not bother me much. What i find distasteful is this. Princess and Carnival have done the same, the difference being if you pre-order water on those two lines and have it delivered to you stateroom it is somewhat reasonable. NCL just plain gouges you, no break at all.

Just don't mess with my wine.
