This article is dated 2011. Maybe you meant to link to another one, glomarrone?

I can tell you this much, Carnival needs to re-work their loyalty program and incentives. Businesses need to realize that loyalty to a brand or product speaks volumes and should compensate those that stick loyal to them. Be it their 2nd cruise or 35 cruise, there is a reason why they choose one line over another.

I am slightly confused. the OP refers to NCL (albeit from 4 years ago) but you refer to Carnival. I am not aware of any real problems with the Latitudes programme for NCL

Can't agree with you more. Every guest should be treated well but there is something about the extras received after achieving advanced status. It can't be lip-service because it is not worth the time or money spent cruising if the rewards are not worthwhile.

I never thought much of the "Perks" from NCL Latitudes or Carnival corp. I have found the best perks to be the RCI family, there you can take your level from RCI to Celebrity or Azamara. I just wish they would not only transfer but also Combine points.

I had read that MSC matches your loyalty level from other cruise lines.....that would be great then my first cruise with them would be at Diamond - Elite level equivalent... this makes MSC interesting for me to try.

Please vert carefully read exactly what MCC says about transferring the level from another cruise line.
