Name on the Door

I do not like the way they put your full name on the door of your cabin ...TMI (Too Much Information).  I was accidentally charged for a "couples massage" by the spa which I caught when reviewing my bill.  If a cruise card is needed for every single transaction, how can that happen?  The spa gave a lame excuse that someone may not have had it by them - oh but knew my name and cabin # ????

Name on the cabin door ?

Never.  Not on any of our cruises.

Unless you name is, Men or Women, I've never seen names on cabins.

Princess Cruises all have a little slot by the "mailbox" bin that has the full name of each person in the cabin ...

I have never had my name on a cabin door.   I would take it down.   Last time I did Princess was about 20 years ago and they did not do the name thing then.

Carnival doesn't put names on doors either. I think that's why some people decorate their stateroom door, so they can easily find it.

I am sure that if you make a request at the guest service desk they can have your name removed from the door.

I can only remember ever seeing this on Princess ships, and I’m not sure they did it on our most recent Princess cruise.

I would not like having our name outside our cabin. That would be like having your name outside your hotel door.  That just would feel like an invasion of privacy.

I'm wondering if....  Sometimes the steward will leave an envelope or a flyer addressed to you for a special invite or free drink offer or something of that nature.  If someone sees it before you and reads it.  They will then know your name and cabin # for nefarious reasons.  Just guessing on that but seems logical.

That's what bothers me about it ... but glad to see it is not the "norm" on other ships ... I see no reason to keep it there.

It really doesn't bother me. I fail to see what damage it can cause.

If someone is seeking to do damage to me, then they will already know where I am staying through their own intel (it really is not hard to find where someone is staying -- just tell customer service you are looking for BDRebel and they will more than likely give your cabin number).

As far as bogus charges, it happens. My bet is that the charges were removed when requested.

To the OP - was the signature on your receipt in your name?
