Murder on Emerald Princes

The Emerald Princess was redirected to port of Juneau today for the FBI to board and investigate a murder of a guest believed to be a domestic issue.

Thoughts out to the family of the deceased and the passengers and crew of the ship.

Just shows domestic violence can happen anywhere. I feel foe the family of the deceased and the crew who had to deal, with it.

How horrible. It must be very difficult for the staff and crew. Condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased woman. I hope the guests onboard were understanding and respectful of the situation.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Latest on the death of a woman from a domestic dispute aboard a cruise ship (all times local):

7 p.m.

Federal officials plan to announce the filing of charges in the death of a woman aboard a cruise ship that docked in Alaska’s capital city on Wednesday.

The U.S. attorney’s office said it will hold a news conference Thursday to announce the filing of charges related to the death aboard the Emerald Princess.

The office says the news conference will include representatives of the FBI and the Coast Guard, agencies that were involved in the investigation."

It can easily get out of control anytime, anywhere, to anyone.

If you are starting to get upset, just walk away.

Thoughts and prayers to the family of the decreased. This is so sad. I mean domestic violence knows no boundaries. But this will ripple effect everyone on the ship.Sad

It was on Good Morning America. If it wasn't bad enough already, the deceased had at least one child. Too bad the cruise lines don't make the national news unless it's something negative, in this case incredibly tragic. Emerald Princess is having a bad year, death of a crew member earlier this year and now this.

Thanks for sharing the news, bad as it is. My heart is aching for all those involved. The rest of expressed it very well.

This is what one passenger had to say:

Suzanne Ragsdale, of Houston, said passengers were notified late Tuesday about security issues and told over the public address system Wednesday morning that there had been a death. She said being onboard for so long was "awful" and that her kids were bored.

Her family had hoped to see Mendenhall Glacier, a popular local destination, and to do some whale watching. She said she was able to rebook a whale watching cruise for Wednesday evening.

"I was hoping we'd be cruise people. We may not be after this," she said.

yeah! Because every cruise has a murder!

Bak.. Your post also belongs on the whiner thread.... I seriously would not be thinking of myself if I heard a murder happened.. I god I hate whiners.

Good point.

"There was a murder on board." "Gee whiz I didn't get to see the Glacier."

Good grief! People are so self centered these days.

It also reminds me of a review some time ago where the individual was complaining about the delay caused because the ship diverted to rescue someone. Had the mentality that someone else should have done it, don't inconvenience me, don't care what the situation is.
