We just returned from an 8 day run out of Miami. La Romana, Oranjestad, Ocho Rios, Nassau...

Getting on the boat was a snap, though crowds are to be expected. We received our luggage in no time, got to explore the boat and our 9th floor balcony was very clean and comfortable. The entertainment was fantastic. That's where it ended, really...

The language barrier can be pretty big, to the point that the bartenders won't talk because their English is so bad. The food in the Villa Ross's dining room is horrible. Out of the eight nights, we are in the dining room three times, and the service was terrible. 2.5+ hours every time we ate there. The specialty restaurants Eataly and Galaxy were excellent, service was as good as the food. We got off in La Romana, where they take you in droves down to the center of town where you're barraged by locals. Go to the resort on the island if you can, that is stunning. The ship is completely unorganized...buffet lines run against each other, two way traffic everywhere and parents just let their kids run over everything. Maybe it's different in the states, I don't know, but you can only find pool solace at the Garden Pool and Bar, but get it early if you want a seat or table. People find the staff rude, but I think you have to reach out to them, I don't believe they're trained to check on you at any time. Gabriel, a waiter in Galaxy, gave 10/10 service for sure. Bar staff in Galaxy are also excellent.

Tours, excursions, disembarkation are all disorganized and a mess. Nobody knows where to go at all. Took over an hour to get off the ship with our own bags in hand! I should post this in a review, but I want to know if this is a fluke thing or has anyone else dealt with this on MSC? Pricing is reasonable, very clean ship, my wife and I seem to enjoy it and they have a new vessel coming next year. Thoughts?
