Most Expensive Excursion You've Done - Was it Worth the Money?

Alaskan Excursions that involve sea planes and get pricey but are worth every cent!

Most expensive, have had a few but I believe it was in Nassau and we got a day pass to Atlantis and also booked the swim with the dolphins. And yes it was absolutely worth it. Actually I do not recall any booked excursion that we did not enjoy and think was worth it.

I think it was a swim with the dolphin excursion in Anguila and it was totally worth it!

Well it was not a cruise line or private tour company excursion, but one where we made arrangements on our own for. For our 2010 cruise w/ a stop in Canaveral w rented a car to go into to Orlando because we arranged for a VIP experience at Sea World. All in all I think the day cost the 2 of us about $800, but the 1 on 1 talk with the rescuers and rehabilitation staff alone was well worth it. It was our 20th anniversary gift to each other.

Funny you should ask this question.  In case you missed my recent posting of my World cruise, here's what i wrote about my most expensive shore excursion:

"One personal highlight for us was our unforgettable one night’s stay in an idyllic over water thatched-roofed bungalow in Tahiti at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa.  A Welcome drink at reception, plus a bottle of champagne and wine along with fruit and snacks awaited us in our bungalow.   We had a wonderful day swimming in the clear, aquamarine shallow waters of the lagoon, enjoying the beautiful views of the stunning mountains, strolling the white coral sandy beach and relaxing in the hammocks.  An extravagant dinner buffet with a complimentary bottle of wine followed by a spectacular floor show ending with an outdoor fire-eaters performance completed the magical day for us.  At night, we viewed the lighted lagoon beneath us through the cutout window in the floor of our bungalow.  After a sumptuous breakfast buffet with live entertainment the next morning, we took a walking tour of the facility and enjoyed the beautiful pool before we rejoined our ship at its next port, Moorea.   It was a dream come true for both of us."

Most definitely, it was worth it!  It WAS expensive.

Zip lining in Costa Rica. It was well worth it, and it's crossed off my bucket list.

Not the most expensive but it was the Eco Park in Belize and it was a huge waste of money. All day sitting by a pool, and lunch was provided. Bugs were bad and just a horrible excursion

I think we did the same one! The food was not bad, but it was just a pool and a trail to walk on. Drinks were good, but you had to pay... I agree

Exactly the same one.  The only thing that made our trip enjoyable was our guide told us all about Belize and its history.  Very smart lady!

Interestingly, I only remember the price of the one that wasn’t worth it.  2005, ~$400pp, small float plane from Juneau to the “best bear watching spot in Alaska”.  Didn’t see a single bear.  Nice day, but not worth the price.

2012, helicopter from Skagway to hike on a glacier, expensive but well worth the price!
