Montego Bay Port

Hello all!

I was told by a friend that when we get to Montego Bay we really need to book an excursion. She said that there is nothing in port. She actually compared it to the port of Progresso. Said it was industrial and had no shops etc. The cruise she took there was probably a good 5-7 years ago and I am sure things have changed. We will have my 4 yr old with us, so we aren't looking to go a long way from the ship. The excursions that Carnival has to offer are kind of slim, but we thought maybe going to the Hard Rock (there is an all inclusive package offered) for a few hours might be the way to go since we can't just walk around in port like you can in Cozumel.

Any suggestions?

From what I have viewed and the fact you have a 4 year old with you, there does not seem to be a lot offered that you would be interested in. Maybe some other posters have some sound ideas for you to consider.

There's a Resort for the Day-I can't remember its name- but it has a full waterpark on one side and a more tranquil resort style swim up pool bar on the other side-that might be an option. Its also on the beach. Maybe 5 minute taxi cab from port too. I think this is it-but it changed names. Satisfied some pretty experienced cruisers on several different cruises and its much more reasonable than a lot of Resorts for the Day

I know.. and we don't want to just dump him in the kids club. I will check out the resort link above..if all else fails, we can go to the Hard Rock, they have a private beach and it would probably be alright for a couple of hours. Thank you both!!
